The Student Disability Resource Center (SDRC) was established to serve as an advocate for FSU students with disabilities and ensure that reasonable accommodations are provided. By providing support services at no cost to students with disabilities, the Student Disability Resource Center offers an opportunity for students to achieve their academic and personal goals. Transitioning from High School to College If you are a high school student preparing to enter FSU as a freshman, please take a look at our new “Transitioning to College” feature. SDRC Group Orientation The SDRC Group orientation is a fun and exciting way for new students to learn about SDRC services. The purpose of the program is to acclimate new students to the services we offer, and SDRC policies and procedures. Future students are encouraged to bring documentation of their disability with them. Both parents and students are welcome. The scheduled times and dates are as followed: The SDRC Mentor Program Volunteering for the SDRC Mentor Program is a great way for students to build leadership skills, promote community, and aid fellow SDRC students. Mentors serve as a valuable resource to new SDRC students who may be unfamiliar with the SDRC policies and procedures, student accommodations, or the FSU Campus. The purpose of this group is to offer new techniques and strategies for managing ADHD while in college as well as sharing experiences with other students who have ADHD. Students who have previously participated in these groups have found it helpful to learn from other students' knowledge, verbalize difficulties and struggles related to ADHD, and feel supported by others.
