Welcome!

Florida State University is committed to providing a quality education to all qualified students and does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, creed, gender, age, national origin, sexual orientation, or disability. The Student Disability Resource Center (SDRC) was established to serve as an advocate for FSU students with disabilities and ensure that reasonable accommodations are provided.

As a primary advocate for students with disabilities, the SDRC works with faculty and staff to provide accommodations for the unique needs of students both in and out of the classroom.

By providing support services at no cost to students with disabilities, the Student Disability Resource Center offers an opportunity for students to achieve their academic and personal goals.

Transitioning from High School to College

If you are a high school student preparing to enter FSU as a freshman, please take a look at our new “Transitioning to College” feature.

SDRC Group Orientation

The SDRC Group orientation is a fun and exciting way for new students to learn about SDRC services. The purpose of the program is to acclimate new students to the services we offer, and SDRC policies and procedures. Future students are encouraged to bring documentation of their disability with them. Both parents and students are welcome. The scheduled times and dates are as followed:

Friday, January 11th at 1:00pm in the SSB Room 214
Thursday, January 17th at 1:00pm in the SSB Room 201

Additional dates will be posted to the website as determined

The SDRC Mentor Program

Volunteering for the SDRC Mentor Program is a great way for students to build leadership skills, promote community, and aid fellow SDRC students. Mentors serve as a valuable resource to new SDRC students who may be unfamiliar with the SDRC policies and procedures, student accommodations, or the FSU Campus. If you are interested in becoming a mentor or mentee or would like more information about the program please contact Rashad Morgan, Mentor Program Coordinator at ram12g@my.fsu.edu.

Coping Groups

Coping with Disability groups-REGISTER NOW (offered through the SDRC and College of Education) Sign up for an intake interview! "Sign up now for an intake for the Coping with Disability group. The purpose of this group is to give students with disabilities a forum to discuss their adjustment and coping to their disability while in college. Students typically gain a great perspective from hearing from others in similar circumstances as well as feeling supported by one another. Please contact us soon, as availability is limited, to setup intakes for the group. Please send an email to fsu.sdrc@gmail.com or contact either Bea or Tim to express your interest."

Coping with ADHD groups-REGISTER NOW (offered through the SDRC and College of Education) Sign up for an intake interview!

The purpose of this group is to offer new techniques and strategies for managing ADHD while in college as well as sharing experiences with other students who have ADHD. Students who have previously participated in these groups have found it helpful to learn from other students' knowledge, verbalize difficulties and struggles related to ADHD, and feel supported by others.
Please send an email to fsu.sdrc@gmail.com or contact either Bea or Tim to express your interest."
