Assistive Listening Devices

 

Assistive Listening Devices Available on F.S.U campus


Athletics- They house a William Sound Assistant listening device with one transmitter and eight (8) receivers. Six of the receivers are headsets and 2 are neck loops that plug into the persons hearing aid. This is a portable system and is available at any of their athletic venues (Doak Campbell Stadium, Dick Howser Stadium, Soccer/Softball Complex, Tully Gymnasium and Speicher Tennis Complex. The information desk in Campbell stadium will be able to assist anyone requesting to use this equipment or they can call Stewart Pierce @ 644-4694 or 443-7077(cell). Patrons are encourage to call ahead a week in advance of the game/match/contest to reserve their use.


Ruby Diamond Auditorium- They house a William Sound system with four (4) units. They have four(4) headsets and four(4) earplugs. Consumers need to call either the information desk (644-5541) at Ruby Diamond to request use of the system for performances or can call Tom Hunter (manager of Ruby Diamond) at 644-3445. Also, one could tell the usher of the day of the event and they would do their best to accommodate you.


Fine Arts Bldg (Fallon theatre)- They house a Sennheiser infrared RI 100j system with a total of twenty (20) headsets. You can ask for a device before a performance at the ticket office. any of the ticket agents will be able to assist you. Devices are only to be used in the Fallon theatre.


Askew Student Life Building- The movie theatre housed in the Askew Student Life Building has an Ultra Phonic infrared system that can accommodate up to 10 individuals. Signs are posted advertising the availability of this service and the procedure on how to access this service. Receivers are all headsets. Contact person: Bob Howard @ 644-0034.


Human Resources- They have a portable PPA VP stand alone. (Mic is connected to the transmitter) It has up to three recievers and uses earpieces. Contact person: Andy Snuggs @ 644-8142.


Student Disability Resource center- They have three portable stand alone FM listening systems. One is a Sprite Phonic Ear product to be used with hearing aids, the other is a wireless William Sound Pocker Talker product. Receivers are all earpieces. The other is a Phonak Microlink FM system that fits to a Phonak BTE hearing aid. ( must have BTE hearing aid to use) Contact person: Patti Lester or Bea Awoniyi@ 644-9566.
